The most important task after you graduate is to apply to the Attorney Generals department for your registration as an authorised celebrant. Once this process is completed (could take between 3 and 6 months since the cap was lifted on 1st September 2008) you can commence your ceremonial career.

After extensive negotiations with the International College of Celebrancy Association we are pleased to announce that we have negotiated a public liability and professional indemnity insurance facility for all registered civil celebrants. Marsh Pty Ltd is one of the world's leading providers of risk management and insurance services. The facility negotiated by us, provides good quality cover at reasonable premiums.
The liability facility provides the following cover: . Public Liability - $5,000,000 any one occurence . Products Liability - $5,000,000 any one occurrence and in the aggregate during any one policy year . Goods in Physical or Legal Control - 5250,000 any one occurrence . Professional Indemnity - $1,000,000 any one claim, $2,000,000 in the aggregate any one policy year. Excess: $500 each and every claim
